What Luminao checks

- Luminao reviews every profile before it goes live.
What Luminao doesn’t do
- We don’t run background checks.
- We don’t confirm grades, scores or other colleges a mentor lists. Those are self-reported.
- We don’t promise admissions results.

The first week, I did what I thought a good tutor does. When he got stuck on a word, I said it for him. By five o’clock we had gotten through four pages, and he had read almost none of them.

Mentors give feedback. They never write your essay. Every suggestion is labeled ‘Mentor suggestion’, and Luminao uses no AI on essays.

Yes. You can create the account, book and pay by card on Stripe’s secure page. Your student meets the mentor and gets the feedback.
The mentor your student sends an essay to. Essays sent for an edit are never public, and Luminao uses no AI on essays. Privacy policy
Yes. Every mentor offers a free 15-minute intro on video. No card needed, and every student gets 3.
Calls are between your student and the mentor, and Luminao doesn’t record them. Essay feedback stays in your student’s account, so you can read it together.
Free intro. Cancelling gives your free intro back.
Paid call. Cancel at least 24 hours before and you’re refunded in full automatically. Closer to the call, there’s no refund unless support decides otherwise.
Mentor cancels. If your mentor cancels or doesn’t show up, you’re refunded in full.
